Gardening 101

Preparing a winter yard for a strong spring with our first "Gardening 101" class.

A great refresher or first stop for new gardeners unsure of where to start, we'll discuss how to approach your gardens and yards, prioritizing healthy growing that's sustainable and simple to care for.

We'll discuss plant selection, basic soils instruction (for more details on soils, check out our Soil Basics class), as well as how to approach watering, fertilizing and timing.

Whether you're new to San Diego, new to gardening, or ready to simplify, our Gardening 101 is where you want to be!

Since 1972, we've focused on simple growing methods, time-tested advice, and locally-grown plants.

We'd love to invite you down to our open-air canyon classroom for a fun morning of casual learning.
