Raising Chickens

Raising Chickens

A CFN favorite, come learn the important aspects of raising chickens at home, and within the guidelines of the City of SD.

We talk about feeding, realistic expectations around egg production, care, flock health happiness (you want to have multiple chickens at any given time, they're not solitary creatures).

We also have the SD County Dept of Ag generously arranging a visit after the class to field your questions about current-day health and hygiene best practices as national concerns are up.

We're committed to sharing full lifecycle information for each stage of a chicken's development.

Provided things are safe and our chicks test free of flu, we expect to have our spring batch available for sale the 22nd of March - roughly a week after the class.

This class is free to attend, no RSVP required.

We always encourage carpooling! If you’re comfortable parking on Altadena and walking, this leaves plenty of room in our limited parking lot for those with mobility needs. Here’s our parking video for details on that option, just two walkable blocks away.

We appreciate the consideration and if you’re checking out with a big order, we can load you in our loading zone with no need to navigate the lot - just let our front counter know.
